Hop to It..
I'm feeling so much better today. These tiny little cortisone pills, in high dosages, are really quite amazing little doohickeys. Naturally, I've been lulled into that comfortable little zone of denial, thinking I no longer need to make an appointment with my doctor. I'm fine! I come to my senses sometime after that, and realize that's all the more reason to go in, since I firmly believe I don't need to, lol.
Mom and I have decided to turn piles and piles of our clutter and junk into someone Else's treasure this month. There are boxes of things of hers, and mine (from long before the accident), that really do need to find a new place to live. I figure, even if it can pay for one week's worth of groceries, we're better off for having put in the time of organizing, pricing, and dragging it out of the shed. We're planning on the first weekend of June, so we only have two solid weeks to finish the job. Wayne has his military drill weekend that week, therefore Mom won't be so insanely busy, and will actually have the time to get it done.
We spent the afternoon today at my great aunt's house, where we visited again with Aunt Sis, Uncle Paul, and Grama Great. They were very happy to see us, and we very much enjoyed the visit. Grama hasn't been able to get out and go to church for the last few months, so I told her I would try and get her some Cd's from Pastor Keith. He's always making recordings of his sermons. She seemed to take to the idea, so now I'm leaving post-it notes all over my room so I don't forget to ask the pastor about them next Sunday. I'm also going to see if he'll pay her a visit, time permitting. I think she'd love Keith.
The rest of the evening has been pretty quiet. Mom and Wayne had a meeting to go to, so it was just Dave and I and the dogs, home eating leftovers, and scouring the Internet for new shows to watch. We keep running out of our regular shows, so we've been watching House and Bones this week. I used to watch both of them regularly when Dave worked late nights. I've always told Dave they were excellent shows, but he refused to watch them. Now, as it turns out.. he loves them. If he'd only just listen to me more often, lol.
Dave's been working on exercises the rest of the night. He was very valiantly trying to hop on one foot tonight. He gets so discouraged when he can't do something so blissfully simple. I try to keep things light and make him laugh, and hop around with him.. which really is hilarious if you watch, or participate. You just don't see two grown, out of shape adults hopping around and laughing like mad very often. He still gets tired so fast.. so after a minute or two, he's huffing and puffing at the kitchen table again, where we work on the easier speech exercises from there on out. Tomorrow, the only plans we've made so far.. are yard sale pricing, and (hopefully), me getting an appointment to see Dr. Abby later this week. We'll see how that goes though.
Thank You all for joining us tonight, and until next time.. Much Love, Many Hugs, and Good Night to You All.
