Puppy Breath.. and Chiggers.

I spent the morning on the phone with the lawyer.. He had new news to share about where our case is right now. It's always a good hour on the phone when he calls, and it's always another boatload full of heavy stuff for me to think about. Inevitably, I leave the call feeling a little overwhelmed, but I think I'm holding it all together surprisingly well.

This afternoon we had cake and ice cream at the pool hall for Wayne's fifty-eighth birthday. We had to work the surprise in around the pool tournament tonight, lol.. but it all went really well. All the guys in the tournament were thrilled to get surprised with cake too, and there wasn't a scrap leftover. I don't do very well with smokey environments, so Dave and I left early.

We got invited out to Chris and Tina's tonight to play with the puppies. Both of the girls are sold, but Milky Kau doesn't leave until this weekend, and I didn't want to miss saying goodbye to the little runt with the big personality. The boys haven't found themselves a new home yet, sadly. They're eleven weeks old, and just as adorable as they were when they were tiny. Chunk is still my little buddy, and I think he knows he's always been my favorite. Rotten thing. I didn't have time to grab my camera before we went out tonight, so I made Tina take some pictures. I don't know how well her picture taking skills fare, but hopefully she got a couple cute ones. It could be a decade before she sends them to me, but if I get them, I'll share.

Blackhead's name has morphed into Blacktop by now. but it doesn't really matter, they only come to "Puppies!" anyway, lol. I'm certain Chunk knows his tagged name though. He always gets SO excited when I call him. They're adorable. Chris got a new female this week. His sister's Jack Russel that she couldn't keep anymore. Her name is Patsy, and she's a cute little thing, but so skittish. Hopefully, she fits in to the fold and calms herself down soon. We were out there a few hours tonight, and it was a lot of fun, (except for the bugs, and the bug repellent baths we all had to withstand to survive out there in the sticks).

We just got home a little bit ago, and Dave and I have realized that it's almost midnight, and other than cake and ice cream several hours ago.. we haven't eaten anything else the entire day. I don't know how we managed that, but now that I'm thinking about it, it's ALL I can think about. I'm starving. We're off to get a little soup into us, and watch some House before bed.
