One person's Trash.. is Another Person's Treasure..
I took Dr. Lalonde's number to speech therapy today. I had really had quite enough of the Hygiene clinic run around, and I wanted Elaine to help me get a new course of action going. It was funny.. because Elaine had decided she'd had enough as well. We called the prosthedontist who was on vacation, and watching his daughter graduate from university. Elaine was amazed at how personable he was, and genuinely apologetic. (I was amazed he answered his phone). Dr. Lalonde has decided that, even though it's much more paperwork for him, and not procedure.. that I should get the cleaning for Dave, and full x-rays somewhere here locally, and bring them to him after I get an appointment. At least with a new course of action, we have the opportunity to get somewhere. I hope.
Lawyer Charlie called back again today. One of those huge, monumental decisions had come due. I suppose I should be grateful he sprung the deadline on me, surprise like, so I didn't have time to get sick over it. I don't know if I made the right decision. I may NEVER know, and the thought is quite unsettling to me. I can only hope that God helps steer our path and sees us through to the end of this thing. I know He will. I just can't be sure there's an ending as happy as I'd like for it to be.
In other news.. we found out today that our civil case trial has been set for March 17th of next year. I wasn't pleased to hear the announcement. I had planned on staying here with a secure roof over our heads until the trial was over, and we could pick up the pieces and try to get on with our lives. I wasn't expecting it to be so far away. That's nine more months. I can't see us still being here for another year. Maybe I just don't want to see that.. but at this point, it's too early to make any concrete plans. Maybe we'll know more after the depositions in July.
We also found out a couple interesting facts about the accident, like.. Jose was going at LEAST 105 mph when he hit Dave, and likely, up to 120 mph. We learned a couple disturbing facts about the bar as well, but.. my gut tells me that's one of those things I really shouldn't be writing about. I apologise. (I really do hate doing that).
I spent the afternoon trying to corral Mom into staying in one spot long enough to help me with the yard sale stuff. The phone rang every ten minutes, and apparently, she's not able to price, communicate, and help me while she talks on the phone, so we didn't get as much done as I would have liked. We went down to the newspaper office, and put in a cheap three day advertisement. Hopefully it was a good nine dollar investment, and we'll see a lot of traffic this weekend. We finished another three boxes full of junk. (We do have some nice stuff.. but a lot of today's batch.. was junk, lol). Candle holders, cheap perfumes that no one ever used, paperback cookbooks, and miscellaneous knickknacks.
Mom's gonna have to stay up late with me tonight, if we expect to get done by Thursday night, when we plan on putting everything out on the tables in the yard. I'd be tying her to her chair to help me now, if she was home. It's almost midnight, and the folks had a meeting hours ago, but I guess they've decided to go out afterward and just not tell me. I know Mom's hiding from the slave driver yard saler here at home. She can't hide from me forever, lol.
We spent the evening at the gym. It had been almost, but not quite a week since we had been there. I was supposed to meet Tina there at five, but we didn't make it. Mom had finally stayed off the phone for more than five minutes, and I was taking advantage of her while I could. Dave and I did finally manage to get down there by seven though. It was a little later than I would have liked, but we made it. My back is killing me about now, since I had skipped a few gym nights, but I feel good that we went.
There isn't much planned for the rest of the night. Dave is requesting soup, and an episode or two of internet television, so I imagine he'll win out, and that's what we'll do. At least until Mom gets home, and then it's yard sale time, lol. Thank You all for joining us tonight, and until next time.. Much Love, Many Hugs, and Good Night to You All.
