Wipe Out..
We got an email this morning from Lisa.. one of Dave's nurses from Wishard ICU. She was one of the three staff people who kept me sane in those early days, answering my thousand questions a day, and putting up with my worry and stress, as I asked what every medicine was, what it did, what it was for.. what's that? Where are you putting that? Can I help? She never got irritated with me, and I loved her for it. I was so disappointed when I didn't get to see her on our trip back, and she was who I had in mind when I left my email address. I didn't think she would write, but I was hopeful. She wrote today though, and it was so nice to hear from her. She wants to see Dave, and officially meet the miracle man himself. I'm excited to plan for that. She was so sweet, and adorable.. tiny and short, and VERY pregnant, struggling to reach over Dave's bed. She's not pregnant anymore, of course. I can't wait for Dave to meet her.
We went to the video store today to try and find a bargain rental to bring home for the weekend. Dave was watching the TV on the ceiling as it played a movie preview, while walking, and looking over his shoulder. He should know his limitations by now, but apparently he doesn't. He lost his balance, and fell into one of the movie racks, It tips over, movies go flying, everyone stares. Dave's embarrassed and walks off, and there are movies all over the floor. I'm trying to pick them up, looking at the floor, and trying to cool off my face that's suddenly on fire. It shouldn't have taken long, but there were cards, and the cases that all had to be matched up so it took me a few minutes. It was mortifying. I've always wanted to be one of those people that wouldn't be bothered by a spectacle like that. So far I haven't managed it. I keep thinking there will less of these incidents as the months go on, but so far, no such luck.
The highlight of my entire day was getting a call from my dear friend SamSam, who makes me laugh, and makes every bad day better. Sam, my dear.. thank you for calling, and cheering me up, and I can't wait to see you soon. I know it won't be long.
We went to Tina and Chris's house tonight to watch the rentals they got for the weekend. We watched Jumper tonight with Hayden Christiansen. It was really quite interesting. They sent Mist and Meet The Spartans home with us, so we're looking forward to watching those as well. We didn't get home until almost one in the morning. I don't like getting home so late, and I really don't like the deer that jump out in front of me late at night on these country back-roads.. but we made it home safely. We're getting ready to watch a little Family Guy with a bowl of Tasty Oats, and call it a night. Thank You all so much for joining us tonight, and until next time, Much Love, Many Hugs, and Good Night to You All.
