House-guests.. |
|
Today has been a day of flying fur, and barking dogs. The folks have truck-driver friends in for the weekend. They usually stay in the room that Dave and I are in when they're here. This trip, they stay with us, and eat with us.. but are forced to sleep in the sleeper cab in their truck, (one of the nicer ones I've seen though). Denis and Debbie are fun, great people, and it's always good to see them. It's definitely made today a lot more lively than normal, that's for sure. |

They brought their dog with them. Harvey is a ginormous, nearly-grown, black lab. He's.. gorgeous, but still very much a lumbering, easily excitable puppy who thinks he's dainty enough to be a lap dog, lol. It's been quite enough of a handful keeping him out of trouble, but then we've got the fur-siblings to consider. Sassy has been scared to death, shivering, and hiding behind everyone's legs all day. She's left big tufts of fur everywhere as she loses it very easily when she's nervous about something. Dinky's been absolutely beside himself barking his tiny little brain off. I don't know if he's scared, mad.. or protecting his own, but anytime Harvey gallops up to get a little attention from one of "his" family.. Dinky goes nuts. For awhile we had both the Poms cool, comfy and calm in our room while the folks entertained their guests. It's been a riot. |

Denis treated everyone to dinner at the little Mexican diner down the street. Dave and I tried valiantly to weasel out of having anyone feel responsible for buying our dinner.. but he wasn't having any of it, and we were dragged along with the rest of the group. It was really nice listening to all their stories of vague, top secret military truck driving trips.. and the even cooler ones where they've been to movie sets like, Grey's Anatomy and Seinfeld. Very cool. We listened intently to them, and I think we all enjoyed it equally. It was a really great day, and who knows what tomorrow will bring. |

The only damper on our day was a pretty good choking event with Dave. (I don't mention them anymore. I know they'll get pretty old if I wrote about every one of them, every day, and they do happen every day still). He very cleverly thought it was a good idea to try and tell me something with mouthwash in his mouth, and as I'm sure you can imagine, it didn't go well. I think he accidentally swallowed a lot more than he was able to spit back out. It doesn't take much for me to spend awhile worrying about him though. I'm sure they'll seem less severe to me as the years go by, but right now.. every choke and cough attack is enough to keep me on edge for awhile. |

We're off for some more visiting, but thank you again, so much.. for joining us this evening and until next time, Much Love, Many Hugs, and Good Night to You All. |
