Dinner for Two..

Dave finally seems to be getting over his cold, and sinus bug, at last. Today is the first day that he's not had a head full of goo to share with the world, lol. We're both thrilled about that.

The afternoon escaped in a blur of conversation. Mom and Dave and Debbie and I literally sat around for hours chatting about everything from parents, to marriage, to the habits of humanity and everything else in between. It should seem like a complete waste of a good day, but it wasn't at all. The company was supposed to leave this afternoon, which is why we made the afternoon count. Their truck load pick-up got pushed back until tomorrow morning though, so that plan changed. The folks took them to the dirt track tonight to watch a stock modified car race. (Chris and Tina, and Aunt Cindy and Uncle Dave and a whole crew all went together). We were invited to go too, of course.. but they were stopping by a steakhouse to have a nice steak dinner before-hand, and that's a bit of a reach for our budget, so we opted to have a nice mac and cheese dinner for two in front of The Family Guy here at home instead. Dave and I split a rice crispy treat for desert though, so that was a fun treat.

We had a crazy storm this afternoon. It was clear all day until I tried to get out and drive to the pharmacy, of course. The skies burst out into huge, heavy raindrops, and quarter-sized hail. Everyone was ducking for cover under tree canopies. It was madness. I love a good storm. They're so exciting to watch.. but not fun to drive in.

The folks should be home soon, with our guests, and who knows what we'll end up doing by then. I'm off for a shower, and then I get to supervise a little round of speech exercises with Dave.
