Happy Independence Day, America!
We did nothing today. Nothing at all, lol. The folks and the skin-siblings were back at the fairgrounds today for most of the day and all night long. Dave and I are still very much in conservationists survival mode, and I was having trouble budgeting a second day of expensive carnival food, so we decided to stay home this time. I hate missing out on family time and awesome fireworks displays, but at least we had last night to reflect on.
Dave and I did laundry today.. and went to the pharmacy for more scripts. Dave catnapped most of the afternoon away, and I comforted the dogs who have bee absolutely terrified of all the firecrackers going off around the neighborhood all night. The rest of the night it's just been online TV, snacking, and visiting with my dear husband. It isn't very exciting, but it's nice all the same.
Mom just called and they're all finally on their way home tonight. The big event at the fair tonight was Rodney singing. (I don't know if anyone remembers me mentioning Rodney.. who sang at our benefit back in February). He was performing at the fairgrounds tonight, and coming up in the next few months he'll be opening for Kenny Chesney, which is a very big deal for him. It's all very exciting. Tonight he asked Wayne to dress up in his uniform and stand on stage with him when Rodney sings his signature song.. I'm Coming Home. Wayne was very honored. I wish we could go to his first concert too, especially since it's back "home" in Evansville, the city that Dave and I miss very much.
I hope everyone is having a fabulous holiday with your families this weekend! Thank You for joining us this evening, and until next time.. Much Love, Many Hugs, and Good Night to You All.
