A-Typical Day in Waiting..

The festivities have come and gone, and Dave and I go back to our traditional days of waiting to wait some more. Aside from a trip to the bank, and paying a couple bills this afternoon.. speech therapy homework, an hour at gym this evening, and a nap for Dave somewhere in between, there just isn't much to report tonight.

Dave's mom called today, and she's still pressuring us to borrow money just to come and visit her, lol. I understand her urgency to see with her own eyes what Dave has become, (and I say it that way, because I know she's just the kind of person to be disappointed. It's sad, but it's true). I know she deserves to see her son, and I understand that she's getting too old to travel.. but it's just not something we can manage right now. Plane tickets to Toronto are terrible! I keep telling her we'll get there as soon as we can, but it won't be right now. That's not comforting enough for her. I'd love to be able to go, and I know Dave would too, but not so much to see his mother, lol. Dave's buddies live up there, and his cousin, and their brand new baby girl we'd love to meet.. but we just can't right now. A normal person would be able to understand that.. but Dave's mother isn't the most.. level headed person around.

The rest of the night has been pretty quiet. Wayne is at a pool tournament, Mom is working on karaoke books, Dave is singing his speech therapy song from this week, and I'm updating. I was debating earlier tonight about only posting updates when something therapy or Dave related happened, but those would be short, and few and far between. I know this story will never truly end, at least not for Dave and I.. but the telling of it will have to at some point. I've been trying to find the time where "The End" just feels right, but.. it hasn't gotten here yet, I guess. Soon..
