Pink and Sticky Sweet. |
|
We slept in and missed the morning entirely. I knew I would be busy the rest of the day, and that I'd need a good rest. We spent the afternoon grocery shopping with mom. It was SO HOT today, and just standing outside was exertion enough to sweat through your socks. It took two stores, and over four hours to get everything Mom needed for an upcoming camping trip their taking this coming week. They'll be gone for five days. It just won't feel the same without them here for so long, I'm certain of it. Dave and I, (as I'm sure you can guess) will be on dog sitting detail. |

The rest of the day was painfully dull. Mom ran around the house doing laundry and packing supplies. I sat at the table for several hours icing sugar cookies. I was up to my elbows in pink icing, and made everyone grouchy when I wouldn't and couldn't leave the table to chat outside on the deck with the rest of the family. Chris and Tina came by to drop of their Harleys. (They're going on the bike-folk camping excursion as well). Tina came inside to visit with me for a little while though, and had a fit over my hair. Somehow, and surprisingly, she loved it, and rambled on about how great it looked for at least twenty minutes. It was pretty comical, but entertaining all the same. She was giving me a hard time about the cookies, but I'm pretty used to it by now. I've been getting teased mercilessly for them since they were cut a couple days ago. I'd share pictures with you, but.. they're for a friend's friend's bachelorette party, and.. I probably better not. *blush* They're coming along quite swimmingly though. |

Dave spent my icing hours keeping me company at the kitchen table, drinking coffee, snacking, and doing random speech therapy exercises. I'm quite thankful he was there with me all evening, or I'd have been pretty bored. My blessed IPOD can only keep me content so long. I did reward him for his efforts, and his loyalty though. I don't think he has any complaints, lol. |

It's most definitely the biggest cookie I've made to date. |

We took a break tonight for a little "So You Think You Can Dance," which is quickly becoming one of my favorite shows. I'm still terribly torn between my favorite THREE couples, and I just adore ALL of the couples left. It makes it hard to see them go come results night, that's for sure. Mom made spaghetti for dinner, which was simple, and awesome, and delicious. Now that we're all happily digesting, the folks are headed out to a party, Dave's on his way to the shower, and it's back to the icing workshop for me.. but I thank you most sincerely for joining us this evening.. and until next time, Much Love, Many Hugs, and Good Night to You All. |
