The Great Escape.. |
|
We had a visitor this morning. Steve, my awesomtastic stepfather came by and brought an enormous box of Special K with Red Berries which absolutely made my day. He also brought a huge stack of car magazines for Dave which will keep him lingering in the bathroom much longer than he needs to be, I'm sure, lol. Most importantly, we got to visit for over an hour which was fabulous. It had been a little while since we'd had the opportunity to catch up, so that was a good time. |

I got an envelope from Sacramento today, from a dear neopian friend completely stuffed full with love today. It had me smiling the entire afternoon away, which was so nice. Simone, all my love to you. Thank You! |

Elaine, (Dave's speech therapist), called this evening and told me that the sixteen year old brain injured boy she's seeing now was having some scheduling problems. For whatever reason, his mother wasn't able to get him there ANY other time but Dave's slot in the afternoon. She asked me if I would consider giving up our prime slot, and having a five o'clock slot instead. She sounded like she was already prepared to be told no. I'm sure most people would cling to the spot they've had the past many months, just for comfort and routine. I definitely think this boy's Mom needs all the help she can get though, so I let Elaine shift us around to meet their needs. Now if I can just remember not to forget to go when we're supposed to go.. all will be well. |

The dogs were in the backyard again this afternoon, while I was playing music and cleaning our clutter mess in this tiny one room apartment that Dave and I have here. Sassy started in with her high pitched panic bark, and I just groaned, and grabbed my shoes. It should be a bad sign that, just like a baby.. I know all her cries by heart by now. I knew she was letting me know that Dinky had gotten out of the fence again, and sure enough, I was right. He was four houses down the street by the time I got outside. Luckily, if you get the warning cry and get outside earlier enough.. he always goes to the same house first. I have no idea why, but he's pretty predictable. He cracks me up though. When you finally catch up to him, he knows he's in trouble, you don't even have to yell at him, he just falls over on to his back so you can pick him up and carry his rotten bum back home, lol. He's starting to test my patience though. Mom tells me I need to get his pen out and set it up in the yard and make him stay in that while he's being a bad boy. I hate to confine him though. *sigh* Anyway.. he's definitely keeping me busy lately. |

Dave and I had a nice rice and cheese dinner over an episode of House tonight which was quite enjoyable. The rest of the evening we don't have a whole lot planned. I'm exhausting my sad little play-list via Itunes, and playing a little yooyuball on neopets now that the finals are finally here. I'm so glad it's almost over, truth be told. It's funny though, Mom called again tonight just for finals play-by-plays. Who's playing who, Who won what. She's so cute. She played hard this month though, and is excitedly awaiting her trophy and prizes. I'm so proud of her, lol. The folks are having a great time at their camp-fest, and will be back home come Sunday. We'll be here holding down the fort until then. |

Thank You so much for joining us this evening.. and until next time, Much Love, Many Hugs, and Good Night to You All. |
