From the Start..
My head still wasn't feeling fantastic when I went to bed last night. The muffled throbbing in my ears kept me awake much longer than I'd intended. By the time I was finally getting drowsy the morning birds were singing me a lullaby. It was well after five in the morning. The alarm, apparently, went off at eight-thirty for church, but I slept right on through it.
I woke up with a start around half past nine, and flew out of bed. Mom and Wayne were just getting home from their trip. The truck was parked in front of our car, blocking it in. The camper trailer was in front of that. The harleys were in front of that, and the grill, food boxes, coolers, and clothes and everything else they took with them was in front of THAT. Dave was still out cold, and I knew it wouldn't be fair to try and get him awake and ready to leave for church inside the better part of fifteen minutes. Even if I could, I knew we wouldn't be able to get our car unblocked in time to not make us late. I felt pretty defeated from the very start of today.
The folks were absolutely exhausted, but had to judge a karaoke contest in the city as soon as they got unpacked, and showered, and re-dressed. I don't know how they do all of the things that they do, but.. they do. They make me tired just watching them though, lol. They headed for that, and I crawled back into bed for a little while. The extra sleep, and double allergy meds have done wonders for me today, and I'm feeling fine and dandy, thankfully.
Mom wanted to catch up with us over a family dinner, but couldn't stand the thought of cooking, (after cooking more than a dozen meals for over thirty people at a time - and that was just around their campsite, not to mention the hundreds of people around them), lol. Mom ordered pizza and we all sat down for an entertaining chat. Mom is feeling pretty miserable tonight though. I guess on the four hour bike ride down to the campsite, there were two accidents and a lot of heavy traffic. They didn't think the trip would take so long, and Mom didn't put on a drop of sunscreen. She was lucky to have camped out by a medic for the entire weekend, who tells her she had second degree burns around her neck from the sun. He gave her plenty of medicine and salves to help ease the pain, but she still doesn't look, or feel particularly great. Poor thing..
The folks were in bed by ten o'clock tonight, they were so tired from their long weekend. The dogs are thrilled to have them back. It's quiet again tonight. Dave's in the shower, and I'm next. There aren't any plans at all for tonight. Thank You for joining us for another evening of Osadchuk family fun time. We appreciate your company far more than you know. Until next time, Much Love, Many Hugs, and Good Night to You All.
