Adjusting to the Change..
After calling every day for a week, we finally got Dr. Abby's nurse to track down the information we wanted. She called back this morning to let us know that Dave would be required to take an over the road driver's test with the local DMV. Dave wants to be upset, but we were pretty much figuring that would be the case. I haven't scheduled the driving test yet. I know we'll have troubles getting a second appointment if things don't go well the first time, so I want to make sure Dave's good and ready before I call. I'll keep you posted.
We also found out that Dave has insomnia.. which makes me laugh. Dave sleeps all the time, and has no trouble in this, of all areas, lol. I really can't blame him for not being able to sleep when they wanted him too. He said it was hot, the bed was hard, he's not used to sleeping at that particular time, and, I wasn't in bed with him, lol. Whatever his reasons, I'm pretty sure we can rule out insomnia. The nurse said that Dave's breathing was shallow while he slept, but that his oxygen levels were fine, and he didn't stop breathing at all, so he doesn't have sleep apnea. Thank goodness. That's just one more thing we can take off our list of worries.
We can add insurance woes back ON to our list of worries though. Dave ran out of time on speech therapy, and we had to beg for a few more visits. Elaine really wants to be able to work with him a couple days after he gets his speech prosthesis. She got them to agree to four more appointments with her, but we have to wait, and choose them when it's most advantageous to do so. Dr. Lalonde is on a conference this week, but we're hoping to have Dave's new appliance when he returns. None of us have any idea how well it will work, but we all have pretty high hopes and expectations. That could be good, or it could spell trouble. We'll see soon enough though.
Dave and I have a conference call on Tuesday with our new trustee, our new bank manager, and our financial adviser. I'm a little nervous about it. I'm just not used to having meetings, budget reports, conference calls, and such official sounding officials in my life, so it's definitely going to be a big adjustment for Dave and I both. I guess if we've juggled the last year somewhat okay, we should be able to handle this too, but I'm still dragging my feet on the change.
It's been about a week since I got my new glasses, and I think I'm finally well adjusted to them. It took me awhile to get used to not having any nose pieces, after NEVER having a pair like this before, but it's nice. As promised, I took a better picture of them, or.. my mother took it for me while the family was having Subway this week after a busy day. And Dave took a couple that I love a little less, but I promised to share, so share I shall.
Completely different, but I like them.
Silly expression, but effective in seeing the new glasses at least.
I still wish I wasn't so blind though. =(
We've been spending a lot of time with the brother and sister and their gaggle of puppies the last week. Chris puts me to work clipping nails first and foremost. He says he just can't see those tiny feet, and doesn't want to hurt them. Hah, tiny feet? He's obviously never clipped sugar glider nails, lol. Puppy paws are cake, compared to that.
The first litter is almost four weeks old now and they're just heading into that perfect stage of adorableness. Their temporary names have blossomed into Oddball, One Dot, Feisty, Shy-Baby, Mr. Personality, aka Ham, and my pick of this litter, Drama, who is absolutely precious. Ham is pretty perfect too though. I can never help falling in love with them, even though I really do try. I snapped a couple pictures to share this week, for anyone who's a sucker for an adorable face.
That's Mr. Personality on top. He's... perfect, lol.
This one was too cute not to include.
This is Drama. I have claimed her.. at least for ten weeks.
There isn't much else to report on from here.. for now. Thank You for joining us this evening, as always, and until next time.. Much Love, Many Hugs, and Good Night to You All.
Amy and Dave.
